                 CANINE DIET AND NUTRITION:

Do you have a stinky dog?

Does your dog have bad breath?

Is your dog a little gassy?

Does your dog have healthy stools?

Does your dog have allergies?

Is your dog over weight?

Are you having trouble getting weight on your dog?

Does your dog have a dull brittle coat?

Is your northern breed dog blowing their coat incomplete or badly?

A dogs diet can and does affect all of the above mentioned things and a whole lot more.

Diet can also affect medical conditions, cause medical conditions and behavioural problems.

If a dog is fed a diet that lacks in necessary nutrients it will cause deficiencies, and being deficient in those areas will in the long term impact your dogs health and could affect longevity.

Ineffective feeding routines can cause fussy/picky eaters.

Did you know that any food left down all day, whether it is raw, moist or kibble will cause bacteria growth which is harmful to the dog!!

Many people add pointless supplements to their dogs diet because others have 'recommended' the products. BUT...…

Do you really know what that supplement is for?

What else is in that supplement and what does it do?

You could inadvertently be adding TOO much of certain minerals and trace minerals that also are harmful if given in too high a quantity.

YES, you read that right, some things in higher doses over time are harmful to your dog and have serious health complications.

Some of the supplements out there are just not needed or actually are not really effective in giving the outcome you desire.

The general rule is, if you see no REAL improvement at all over 6 weeks of adding the supplement, then stop giving it completely.

Also, if you dog is currently under a vet, or you are wanting to supplement for a medical or health reason, seek advice from a vet first to make sure it is safe to use.

I am  a qualified Nutritionist, I offer one hour consultations to go through what your dog is currently eating, how much & how often. I will need a current weight on your dog when I come for the consult.

If you are looking to switch foods to a more appropriate diet for your dog, we look at all available options and you will be sent a guide to help the transition from one food to another.

If you are looking to switch to raw, I will write up a guide to help you understand what your dog will need as part of a balanced diet and what sort of things to give. I can also write up a meal planner if you need to start you off. You will also receive a transition plan for switching from your current diet to raw safely and effectively.

If you already feed raw but are not certain if you are feeding the diet correctly, I will go through what you are already feeding and how much of each you give. I will then write up an adjusted amount and can also write up a meal plan if you want.

Feeding raw is absolutely fine, it is if fed correctly a very nutritious and healthy diet for your dog. BUT, it must be fed CORRECTLY. If not it will cause all kinds of issues and deficiencies.
